Weekend Recap

We finished a full weekend with our first friends to visit for the weekend since we got married!  Corey and Meleah came down from Charlotte to spend the weekend with us and we could not have asked for more perfect weather for our visitors!  Unfortunately Rich had to work and attend a work event for most of the weekend so he missed out on some of our fun.

I found the bravery to recreate this recipe from North Carolina Charm to welcome our guests.  If you ask me, you are never too old for a funfetti recipe with EXTRA sprinkles.  I'll be saving this recipe and experiment for future celebrations in this household.  31st birthday anyone?

We had dinner and drinks at Bay Street Biergarten in downtown Charleston, followed by a rainy trek to Pavillion Rooftop bar.  We were quickly chased out by the rain but made our way back to our house to indulge in the female ritual of getting together and changing the polish on our nails.

Fresh fruit makes all Saturday mornings that much more refreshing, am I right?

We spent a good chunk of the day on Sullivans Island and enjoying a beautiful yet WINDY beach day.  This Target bikini is a true staple to my bathing suit rotation this summer, even following the wedding.

High tide and the wind chased us away to one of my favorite Charleston area boutiques: Almost Pink and Corey quickly became the boutique's newest supermodel, or at least, that's what the shop owners had us believe.

Saturday evening was full of grilling out on our lovely backporch and a trip to the candy store and movies for a double date night.  We saw Trainwreck and highly recommend this romantic comedy.

We spent Sunday exploring downtown with Batman.

After living in Charleston almost two years, I have finally found my new favorite boutique! Two Cumberland on King Street had the most unique Charleston themed gifts.   We spent a good portion of our time browsing the racks for of bracelets.  I really wanted to take these coasters home for our house and I am experiencing a bit of buyers remorse.  It looks like I will be paying a visit back to this little shop soon!

My newest shopping friend, Joelene, a one year old rescue lab mix with the sweetest disposition.  Rich let me know if I were to bring her home I'd have to give up one of our current fur babes.....so much to my disappointment Joelene stayed downtown.  She also...wasn't for sale.
