Five for Friday: Target Favorites!

With our new house I am all things crazy for Target right now.  I've never considered myself a Target obsessed gal (I never minded a casual stroll through Target, just never found myself ga ga over all things Target) but between some of their new home decor collections,  it is my go to stop for all things house right now.

Here are five of my favorite things I am eyeing this week:

One:  Nate Berkus Metallic Curtains:

I LOVE these dreamy curtains.  As of right now all our rooms are curtained, but can't help but think how can I find a way to put these sweet lovelies in our sunroom decor plan.

Two: Double Sconce

I am currently scheming to figure out how I can work these into either our foyer or dinning room for additional lighting.  They have such a subtle luxurious feel that keeps drawing me back to them.

Three: Nate Burkus Square Gold Side Table

Before leaving Charleston we sold off all our side tables so we are in the market for some new ones for our living room.  We are waiting for our new couch to arrive (soon!), but these marble and gold side tables really provide a beautiful elegance to any room.

Four: Bike Throw Pillow

My favorite holiday is so close!  I thought this pillow would be the sweetest addition to one of our many window seats in the house.

Five: Women's Fringed Booties

The second these gals go on sale you will find them in my shopping cart, sorry husband ;)

Sunroom progress

A mentioned a few weeks ago how we'd made some progress on our sunny sunroom!  We decided to go ahead and make this our working space as well as a lounge space, so we opted to move a large chair and a half and our desk downstairs.  Not only does this make this room more functional for us, it frees up great space in our new upstairs den.  

If you remember this room started with bright yellow paint and custom made sunflower valances-YUCK!  I think we've come along way in making this a tranquil space.

January Goals

Even though I am late on this post, I DO still have goals for January that I have been working on, but boy they are not glamorous.

My word for the year is ENGAGE, and that is truly one of the biggest drivers of my January goals.

1.  Meet people!  I am not going to make the same mistake I made in South Carolina and haphazardly make connections and meet folks in my new city.  Essentially I want to dive right into this new life here and start making connections and planting seeds of friendship and relationship.

2. Find a church.  This may take a bit longer to finalize, but I'd like to use the Sunday's in January to explore different churches.

3. Begin working on training the dogs.  This has to happen.  We have a nice house now and I'd like to have nice things in it that don't get carried around in a retriever mouth.

4.  Limit Caffeine intake. This will be a big year goal, but I need to start somewhere in cutting back on caffeine!

Our First Married Christmas

Between quitting two jobs, applying for jobs, starting a new job, closing on a house, packing up a townhouse, and moving two states away, I wasn't really sure what our first married Christmas would look like.  In some ways, it was INCREDIBLY special, as we got to get settled into our first home (that we own!) and begin making it feel like ours. And boy, it already does.

A quick and easy DIY banner I've had for two year now learned from another blogger favorite of mine.  It may be my most favorite decoration in our house at Christmas time.

 For the last 4 years this little lady has LOVED Christmas lights.  She really calms down and loves to sleep at the foot of the tree.

 This year for Christmas Rich's parents got him a pirate ship lego set he has wanted for the last fifteen years.  He spent two hours putting it together and can only imagine how hard it would have been to assemble all those years ago.  I helped him for a bit but eventually gave up because let's face it, girls toys come pre-assembled and it is way better that way.

 Even Sophie got in on the Christmas action.

Happy Birthday Jesus!  We just LOVE celebrating your birth.  

A special date with two special little ones.  When your cool Aunt and Uncle come in to town, you can get whatever size scoops you want.
